Valve has announced an upgraded version of its handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck OLED. The new Steam Deck OLED model features a 7.4-inch OLED display with deeper blacks, more vibrant colors, higher contrast, and a larger active screen area compared to the original Steam Deck LCD model. It has 30-50% better battery life thanks to the more efficient display and updated AMD internal components. The OLED model is also lighter, runs cooler, and has faster WiFi 6E wireless connectivity for speedier downloads. Other enhancements include higher touchscreen responsiveness, a removable carrying case for the 1TB model, easier repairability, and internal tweaks for better audio, controls, and performance. With the brighter OLED screen and slew of upgrades under the hood, the Steam Deck OLED aims to provide an even better handheld gaming experience compared to the original Steam Deck.
