Sony has announced a new slimmer and lighter PlayStation 5 model launching in November 2023. The new PS5 Slim trims volume by 30% and weight by 18-24% compared to previous models. It will come in two options – one with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive for $499.99 and a Digital Edition without a disc drive for $449.99. The PS5 Digital Edition will allow gamers to purchase and attach an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive separately for $79.99 if desired. Both models now include 1TB of internal SSD storage. Additional new accessories include interchangeable PS5 covers in different colors launching in 2024. With the holiday season approaching, the PS5 Slim provides a refreshed look and more flexibility while maintaining the advanced technological features that make PS5 a leading platform for next-gen gaming.
